There is nothing quite like a plan falling apart, and I resisted writing a post like this for a while, but with recent loses, I gotta admit defeat.
I was excited to be attending the Mid-Michigan Paranormal Convention this weekend and hoping you might be too and would stop to say hi.
Then Covid decided it wanted to visit me and not leave.
Yup, I got Covid. After almost passing out, a trip to the ER revealed I had finally gotten it. Four years is not a shabby time to avoid it, but I supposed it was inevitable.
But could it have happened at a different time?
Like when hubby isn’t out of a job that pays 100% of our bills?
Or the week the Mid-Michigan Paranormal Convention so now I can’t go?1
And make me miss so much work at both my jobs?
Also, the ER trip isn’t helping matters. Cross you fingers for me as I’m about to find out what Medicaid will cover. I got a peek at the costs and its not pretty.
It sucks, but what can I do? I can’t make Covid bugger off by sheer will power.2 So I’m reaching out for a hand to help make up for missing work and the new bills that I really can’t afford right now.
If you would like to help me out during this tough time…
I have no shortage of knitted familiars and animals hats now. They make great stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts since the holidays are creeping up on us. (Seriously, where did 2024 go???)
If you want something custom, hit me up at pjlauthor@yahoo.com and we can talk about if its possible. I’ve done red kitty-cats, arctic foxes, and brown wolves hats for people.
And, of course, you can grab yourself a paranormal fantasy or sci-fi book to feed your ever growing TBR pile and maybe read yourself. 😜
If you aren’t looking for a new friend to take on adventures, the colds of winter aren’t an issue, and your TBR pile isn’t about to consume you, but you’d still like to help then I’d appreciate a coffee with Ko-Fi.
I just want to end with a thank you.
Life is being a big bitch for me right now, and I know I’m not the only one in this boat. (One reason I hesitated writing an email like this is I was thinking about the people who just had to endure TWO hurricanes. The last thing anyone dealing with that is an email saying, gimme money. My own patience has been thin for for those sorts of emails.)
But the world is full of kind people who want to help. That help can be as simple as putting good vibes for someone into the universe. Or it can be buying a hat from a crafter who geeks out over the paranormal. Even if it’s not me you are helping, if you choose to reach out to someone in need that’s awesome. And if you’ve already lent me a hand, you rock! You have no idea how much that means to me.
Thank you. You are what the world needs.
I emailed the convention with the news and asked about a refund since my absence is forced by Covid, and they offered to take my vendor fee and hold it for a future event, so it may take longer, but I’ll get to the Mid-Michigan Paranormal Convention one day!
I’m trying, though!
OMG a fantasy writer/lover who crochets - I didn’t know there was another one!
I managed to avoid COVID until December of last year. It didn't cost us much, because once we tested positive we just stayed at home and suffered. I wouldn't recommend it.
