Really interesting! There was a bridge near my house called Crybaby Bridge. The story was that there was a car accident and a baby was thrown from the car. It died in the swamp. Ever since then, people would hear a crying baby. And then my dad ruined it by saying a bobcat's cry can be mistaken for a crying baby. πŸ˜†

There's probably few ghosts stories that have resulted because people mistook an animal cry for a human.

I wrote a piece about the popular Ghost Walk in Niagara On The Lake in Ontario, Canada. There is a story about ghost lights from the gazebo at Lake Ontario and people have seen a ghostly woman walking up and down the beach, crying. Interesting how some ghost stories are similar. Thanks for sharing!

I agree. I'm curious to how often I'm going to come across a crying ghostly woman now. LOL
