Really interesting! There was a bridge near my house called Crybaby Bridge. The story was that there was a car accident and a baby was thrown from the car. It died in the swamp. Ever since then, people would hear a crying baby. And then my dad ruined it by saying a bobcat's cry can be mistaken for a crying baby. 😆
I wrote a piece about the popular Ghost Walk in Niagara On The Lake in Ontario, Canada. There is a story about ghost lights from the gazebo at Lake Ontario and people have seen a ghostly woman walking up and down the beach, crying. Interesting how some ghost stories are similar. Thanks for sharing!

There's probably few ghosts stories that have resulted because people mistook an animal cry for a human.
