I didn’t plan on having an update post for February, but then I remembered there is a huge milestone for me on the 1st and there are a couple other things I want to remind you about. Also, I mentioned ancient robots in January’s update, and I can’t not deliver on that.
February first marks a massively important date for me. It’s the day I got my life back after 10 years of ever worsening pain due to Endometriosis.
The surgery was literally life saving.
The main thing keeping me alive was the fact I couldn’t put my parents through burying another child. They had to bury my brother thanks to cancer. I couldn’t make a choice that would put them through that pain again.
So, today I’m celebrating 4 years of being pain-free and alive. I’m not cured as there is no cure for Endometriosis, but the surgery cleaned up the utter mess it made on my guts and birth control keeps it from turning my life back into hell.

Okay, celebration over because while I have that going for me, hubby is still on the job hunt. And his unemployment is running out. 😬 I had really hoped I could delete this bit before it published.
I’m going to point you back to my Covid post and remind you that I knit animal hats and make little toys for you to take on adventure. There’s also my books, but with the way royalties work, I won’t see that money until 2 months, so I’m less fussed about them. The knitting will help pay bills due now. Please consider buying something.
Unless you aren’t in a position to help monetarily. Then I’d like to request sending good vibes to my hubby (and anyone job hunting) that he finds a new job. I really don’t want to lose the house we haven’t owned even for a year.
Now, on to ancient robots!
This video came across my YouTube recommendations and it is amazing. I love history and to see the ingenuity people had in the past is inspiring. Not sure why it is age-restricted because I don’t recall anything inappropriate for any age. Give it a watch. You won’t be disappointed.

My wife had surgery for Endometriosis, and it made a world of difference. I'm happy for you! Chronic pain of any kind of no fun.
The robot video is fascinating. I'm reminded of the robots L. Frank Baum created in the Oz books just after the turn of the century (last century!) One was a limited guard robot that couldn't walk or think, but then there was Tik-Tok, who could think, talk, and move--as long as Dorothy kept him wound up.
