WHAT ARE WE DISCOVERING THIS MONTH?
Halloween is over and my birthday and Christmas are coming.
Step aside children of the corn, there’s a new corn monster lurking.
Remember to vote in the poll.
I hope everyone had an eerie Halloween. I got to hand out candy at my new house and I was stoked. I love seeing all the costumes. It got close, but I had enough candy for everyone.
But now the spooks are over, and I want to remind you all that I have handmade hats and knitted toys that will make great holiday gifts.
I’d also like to add that November is my birthday month, too, so more knitting would be a perfect birthday gift to me.🧶

Let’s set the scene. It’s night and you’re driving down a lonely dirt road in Isabella County. Corn fields surround you. And you are utterly alone.
Or so you believe.
A creature lumbers out of the corn. It is in the shape of a man but extremely disheveled and dirty. It lunges for you and sends you screaming into the night.
The Corn Monster of Winn
This is the monster that some residents of Winn, Michigan believe is lurking in their corn fields. The most common encounter is that of a Schwan’s delivery driver. I’ve found some variations of account with some claiming it happened at night and others saying it happened during the day. The gist of the story is the delivery man stopped W. Coe Road in Isabella County and got out of his truck to stretch his legs. A human-like being appeared on the edge of the cornfield and scared the bejeezus out of him. He bolted back to his truck and sped away.
A legend as small as the area the monster lurks in
Apparently, all sightings of the monster is around W.Coe Road, but any stories elaborating on the encounters are lacking. Complicating research is the misspelling of Winn as Wynn. I kept getting results for Winn Dixie. Not quite the corn I’m searching for.
I wish I could give more meat to this story, but all roads lead to the same story. Maybe there are more stories of encounters hidden on the internet. Maybe the monster is completely fictional like others I’ve written about. But I enjoy uncovering these stories and sharing them. They spark my imagination and I hope you can say the same.

No poll this time around as next month I want to share Mishipeshu since that actually won last month’s poll, but then Covid happened to me and whipped my butt.

You have to wonder what became of the monster after harvest? He'd have lost a lot of his cover, just as deer do.
Love me some good cryptids.
