I've heard of Dogman and of course Bigfoot here in Michigan, but nobody yet has a tall tale regarding Wendigo. I should scour some historical newspapers and see what's out there in our big scary woods. 😳

Let me know if you find anything, especially in the UP. Lots of woods there.

Hopefully nothing finds me first!

If we never hear from you again, we know why. o.o

I'd love to know if you find anything! I saw some confusion between Dogman and Wendigo in an article, but the two are nothing alike.

Love this exploration and explanation of the Wendigo! My only familiarity with Wendigos comes from the Grimm show and from Supernatural, so I don't think I really had a good understanding with those pop culture references. Congratulations to Shannon! She is a brilliant author - and I purchased a copy today. :)

I mainly know about Wendigos from a video game.

Thank you so much! Wendigo has been depicted so many different ways over the years. I really liked the movie Ravenous.

Algernon Blackwood wrote a brilliant story about this creature....

I'll have to see if I can find it.

I'll have to check that out!

Interesting - I thought it was more of a take on Bigfoot.

Congratulations, Shannon!

Noooo. Two entirely different things. If you had to pick one to run into, you want Bigfoot.

Oh yeah, very different! And like Patricia said, you'd definitely want to run into Bigfoot if given a choice.

I’d never heard of the Wendigo until the (phenomenal) Penny & Sparrow album of the same name. Spooky!

Ha. It's been interesting to see the different ways people know about Wendigos.

I've never heard of that. Will have to seek it out.

I find it interesting how these stories keep passing from one generation to the next.
