It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done an update post so I figured I was overdue. Last time was back in April and I was excited because hubby had a job interview. Unfortunately, I can’t say he landed the job because while the guy he talked to liked him and wanted to move forward, that dude’s bosses got wishy-washy about hiring someone, and it’s been radio silence since the beginning of June.

Yeah, hubby and I are pretty disappointed as he was very interested in that job. He did get an email recently from another company, so cross some fingers and toes for us that this one won’t fall apart. Neither of us expected him to still be looking nine months later. To top things off, we got our fall tax bill and they raised our taxes by $1000. I’m not entirely sure what we did to piss off the universe so much, but I’m sorry!
HAPPY MOMENTS TO CELEBRATE
But I refuse to be all doom and gloom and I’ve been doing my best to keep my chin up by playing in my garden. I did a fun experiment this year. I took a kidney bean out of a bag of dried beans and planted it. I saw a Youtuber claim you can plant them and I thought there was no way, but it’s growing! I honestly didn’t expect it to. I’m curious to see what I get in the end. Will I have fresh kidney beans to eat?
And if you missed my initial announcement, you have a new collection of flash fiction to devour. It’s always satisfying to get my stories out into the world for others to enjoy.
And of course, I’m still knitting away. It helps keep me sane right now. Please consider giving me more reasons to keep sane and grab yourself a hat or familiar.
HAUNTS OF THE SOO
I can’t end the email with pleas for help. (Although, I super appreciate how supportive many of you have been. Monetary and non-monetary. I can’t say that enough. Thank you so much.)
Here’s an article about the city I live in, Sault Ste Marie. The Soo (as locals call it) is THE oldest city in Michigan, so you can imagine how much history there is.
And, of course, ghosts. Read about 4 haunted locations (all of which I’ve been to many times, but not ghost hunting so I can’t tell you of any personal experiences) you can check out if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods.
Did you enjoy learning about the haunts of Sault Ste Marie?
Then check out
and their newsletter. I, for one, think you can never read too much paranormal stuff. 😜My next email will drop into your inbox on the 13th. Keep your eyes open because we’ll be uncovering the mystery you voted for!
Twisting the Myths exists because of YOU!
I couldn’t do this without your readership. If you enjoy monster hunting with me and reading my stories, hit like 🩵 or brew me a coffee or tea through Ko-Fi.
Thanks so much for reading.
Until next time, stay spooked.
Congrats on the new collection! Very exciting. Loved the bats.

I'm sorry to hear about the job.
But so cool on the beans. Keep us posted.
