Learn A Word: Zemblanity
Grow your vocabulary and impress/weird people out with your knowledge.
Welcome to Learn A Word in 100 Words.
Here I will share a word, one that may have fallen out of vernacular or is just unusual. I’ll give you the definition and then share a story I wrote using the word in 100 words.
I challenge you to write something using the word as well.
It can be a single sentence, a 100-word drabble, or a longer story. Or if writing isn’t your jam and you’re inspired another way, go nuts. Stretch your creative muscles and show me what you’ve got!
But first…
Are you a new visitor to Twisting the Myths? Join me and over 600 myth hunters to enjoy a drabble like the one below, discover more mysteries and monsters, or crafting inspiration.
Zemblanity
1: The inevitable discovery of what we would rather not know
Jason hated rising with the sun. But it wasn’t like he had a choice. There was only so much light in the day and he had to maximize it if he wanted to survive the night.
And the monsters it contained.
It had been an accident. A moment of zemblanity that changed everything. The monsters everyone thought only existed in the pages of books didn’t stay there. They had found a way out. Luckily, they were bound by the rules of the stories that spawn them. That was the only saving grace for humanity. So, Jason rose with the sun.
Fun Fact:
Zemlanity is the opposite of Serendipity
