Well, that was a year...
And this means WAR!
To say 2025 was a year is an understatement. I got through it at least without going more insane than I already am, but I fell short on a lot of goals I set for the year. I can’t really beat myself up for it as a lot of reasons were outside of my control. I had to focus on ensuring the bills got paid. Sometimes the things you want to do get put on the back burner because of the things you need to do in order to survive.
But me being me, I’m not feeling defeated. If anything I’m feeling defiant about 2026. I have no idea what it will hold, but I’ve already declared war on the year. I know what I can endure thanks to 2025, and I want to make a plan for 2026 that will enable me to get to do the things I want along with doing the things I need to do.
One big thing I’m plotting is batch writing the monster hunting posts. I want them ready for you despite whatever day jobs I’m dealing with. I felt bad not being able to share what you voted on because I didn’t have the time or energy to research well.
No matter what 2026 holds, I appreciate you reading and supporting me. 666 subscribers is still eluding me, but I am grateful for everyone currently reading. (Maybe 666 is holding off until I am in a place where I can afford to have a special celebration with gifts and giveaways.) You’ve helped keep me motivated and uplifted me when I needed it.
I always end each newsletter by saying Twisting Myths exists because of you and that is true. Why write and post about monsters and mysteries to the internet if no one is reading? I could just read about it and go to bed when finished. But you show up and come along for the ride with me. That makes it all worth it.
I can’t wait to dig into new mysteries and monsters and share them with you in 2026.
Thanks so much for reading and being you.
Until next time, stay spooked.

Corruption & greed are our 2 biggest demons, right there with IGNORANCE & WANT. Beware them all, for upon their foreheads is written that which is DOOM ( apologies to Dickens ).
Happy New Year, may this year treat us all better.
